STAFF REPORT

PERTH AMBOY — Friends for Preservation of Middlesex County Jewish Cemeteries Inc., which has restored and maintained cemeteries owned by Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh in the city, will hold a cemetery tour at noon tomorrow.
This will be the final tour this year.

The tour will begin at the Hebrew Fraternity Cemetery entry gate on New Brunswick Avenue in Hopelawn. Following a one-hour tour of the the cemetery, the group will move to the Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh Cemetery on Florida Grove Road in Perth Amboy for a one hour tour.

The tour will offer mostly historical information, providing a history of the cemeteries and the people interred there. Participants will have an opportunity to visit the graves of relatives.

The tour is free but advance registration is recommended.
Those who have not visited these cemeteries recently will be amazed when they return because our landscapers have done a marvelous job of restoring dignity and beauty to these historic cemeteries, which are the final resting place for most of the Perth Amboy Jewish Community of the early 20th century, including many of our friends and relatives," said Dr. Mona Shangold, president of the nonprofit organization.

"In addition, tour attendees will have an opportunity to see the remarkable restoration and repair of all monuments that were toppled by vandals in September. This prompt repair resulted from the cooperative efforts of our organization, Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh and Congregation Beth Mordecai," she said.

The organization recently published the second issue of its newsletter "The Eternal Vine" which provides an updated report of the group's progress and a list acknowledging and thanking all donors. The newsletter serves as a link connecting all those with roots in the Perth Amboy Jewish Community and is available online.
